Stars

Posted by Ryan Woods

Have you looked at the stars recently? I forgot they were there. Seriously. No, seriously, I forgot about the stars. I used to see them when I would go to Camp Yamhill in the Summer, but that was then, and this is now.
Well, I found them again this week while camping. It was amazing. I sat outside on a blanket by myself with absolutly no light but that which came from the moon, and I stared at the sky. I saw satalites, cassiopia, the Big Dipper, and the like. I just thought I should remind you to remember the sky and to take joy in the fact that God created the stars. Is there anything that you want to remind the rest of us about?

Deep sigh.

Those stars were screaming God's glory ... in a silent sort of way.

I like that my husband sounds like he is a secrect MIB agent! That's right...he's ready to get "flashy thinged" now!

I now live in central oregon where there are no large buildings to speak of - I see stars every night before I go to bed, unless there are clouds. They are amazing.

that, interestingly enough, is one of the only things i like about central oregon/ bend... the lack of buildings. I would like to remind everyone of the sound of silence. I know: "geeze, arwen... get more cliche why don't ya..." but seriously people. I know you all work and the sound of your silence is either keyboards, people breathin, airconditioners, or any number of things that aren't actually silence. go listen to the trees someday... no, not the ents... they talk too slow. Dominic Monaghan knows all about that. Go listen to nature. it'll be a good conversation no matter what.

ps: i've been looking at that picture from across the living room and I thought it was not showing up and I kept getting annoyed with you in my head because i couldn't understand why you weren't switching out the non-working picture. sorry :(sad face

I ended up deleting the picture 'cause the link failed me. I didn't really want to worry about it.

And, yes, it was wierd when we ended up watching Men in Black right after I wrote this post 'cause apperently MiB's feel the same way about the stars as I do.

Silence freaks a lot of people out. It is interesting because people get so used to the noise that they consider silence being when only the radio is on.

Dear Arwen,

It makes my day that your references the Ents. Nerd. But I guess it does involved DM, so it makes sense. Did you think it was a little humorous that those two hobbits spent the entire second movie riding around on trees?

Yours,

Roni

Um, can I edit that last post? So many typos. Yeeps.

Arwen thanks for brining up silence...it is golden. I miss living in the sticks. Stars, silence. Just listening to the goats in the back. Maybe a breeze in the trees. Ah, Bliss.

Well I once heard that the stars are like little holes poked into the blanket of the sky which leave the light and glory of Heaven shining through....I wish that I could claim such a comment for my own. But i'm afraid it goes to my old friend David Myers back in high school and I'm sure that he stole it from someone else too.

i'm going out there (camp) soon . . . can't wait to see the stars!

Jesus lives in silence.

I thought it was Jerusalem?
