Jones' Theology
Posted by Ryan Woods
Here are three things that Jones said at different times today. It's great that he's asking such deep theological questions at such a young age...3...hopefully by the time he's a little bit older we'll lose him while visiting family in Lubbock only to find that he was studying the Bible with the preachers from the local congregations. And then, when we scold him for not staying with us he'll say some smart allec comment like "mom, dad, what else would I do but study at the meeting location of my fathers autonomous church?"
I won't take time to try to recreate the whole conversation that took place, but here was each initial query:
- Jones: Dad, why does God need heaven?
- Jones: But how does Jesus take our souls to heaven?
- Ryan: "Kiddo, did you know that Jesus loves you very very much? He thinks you're so special!" Jones: "God loves me, but God doesn't love me because I kill bugs. It makes God sad when I kill his creation."
Try answering that to your three year old!
