The Silver Bullet

Posted by Ryan Woods

In all the hubbub of the season I failed to alert you of a major loss in our family. I apologize.
The Silver Bullet is dead. No, not just dead, the Silver Bullet is dead and gone. It was hauled off today by Hughie and I'll never see it again.
Jones road home in her from the hospital. It was the first car I ever purchased. It was our first car together as a couple. When we purchased it we got a great deal, about four grand.

*Resume Story*
After the initial purchase we have raked in about $4500 in insurance costs. Thank you Allstate! That little car not only transported our family, but it also purchased us a laptop, a down payment on a minivan, and payed some bills. That little silver car just kept giving and giving until it gave its last gift...the gift of my sister-in-laws life. While Jenna was driving our little Silver Bullet a few weeks ago she dozed off and ran into a tree. Luckily Silver miraculously saved Jenna's life (though she did end up with a bump on her head). Sadly Silver gave his life for Jenna's. So today Hughie took it away for a small pile of coins.
Goodbye Silver Bullet. I loved you. You gave everything...but you took my heart. You were always my David, you slew every giant in your path. May you find your slingshot in Hyundai heaven.

I like the two cars at the end. Are they kissing, or maybe in a relationship?

It's funny how cars can have different lives. Are first purchase was a taker. A taker from the get go. Oh, but then we got our van. Our van was great. Loving, thoughtful and then, just like Adam, gone in a moment. What the crap? Are "new" van has 250,000 miles or so. it's a Honda... How long will it last?

I really enjoy that I was with your family for the birth of this post. It makes it more poignant (i've never really typed that- or even spelled it- before, but I know there's a 'g' in it) to know that you thought of this picture-- the little silver bullet taking on the massive (but really only moderately sized) EuroVan.

It truly was the David of Korean cars.
Bless your little engine, Silver Bullet.
May your oil be changed and your exaust run pure in little car heaven.
amen.

I loved that little micro machine. It truly was the microest of all machines. I wish my car would give me $4000...lucky bitches.

glad to hear jenna is allright. I know the pain you feel ryan. I lost my first truck because it was either the concrete wall on the 205 bridge or a mini van. au revoir pepe.

aawww . . . moment of silence.

plus? silver bullet? someone has to say it . . . but it wont be me.

What Tabitha? What is it about the name "Silver Bullet" that you'd like to point out? I have absolutely no idea and would love to be enlightened.

I didn't know your car was sponsored by Bud Light......

but it's still awesome. I still miss my first car: Joe. He was a '94 Ford Taurus that was worth only about $300 at the end, but still had a $2500 stereo system.

Sad, sad day.

i love your story about your beloved, it made me snicker. my first car was an 89 pontiac grand am whom my friends dubbed white lightning. it was so loud that you could hear it coming from blocks away in our quiet little T town. i loved it, but i must say that i am quite happy to have upgraded.

Ah yes, good ol' Tulia, Tx. God bless her soul.

isn't the Silver Bullet a "lady pleaser"?

is that what you're looking for Tabitha Jane?

yes, anony . . . yes.
