do you agree or disagree with these statements:

  • The fact that there is massive poverty in the world means that the church is partially failing their purpose.
  • The fact that there will always be poor in the world means that there will always be people who are lazy, with poor judgment, or given no chance.

Well i dont think the church is failing; you could say they're OR we are ALL in the process of ridding the world of poverty. The rate in which this happens depends on how quickly people start thinking for others. I thinks its a matter of inspiring others around you and the "good" will spread like a bad cold xD. SO LET US ALL DO OUR BIT *sneeze* lolol

maybe we should take the approach of the scariest video you've ever watched.

I'd do it, but like I told Jess, I failed that class. Horribly.

so you'll have to find someone else to make a nice little grid of stuff.

BUT i am going to say that if the church were magic and could make changes over night, then yes. It is failing horribly and should just quit now.
but it isn't.
a little goes a long way.
I'm willing to bet that those that the church HAS helped, would not say that it has failed them. You can only do so much and as long as you know that you are doing what you can and it is making even a SMALL difference, you are not a failure.

Put that on a 4x4 grid and YouTube it.

Disagree with both.

Jesus said we'll always have poor people.

I am not sure what I think about the second one, but I somewhat agree with the first comment~ I think that the church definitely does not do enough for the poor and needy, but it should not rest completely on their shoulders either, I would like to think that christian or not- we should all do our part. But in the last few months I am realizing how we are so specificaly called and asked by Jesus to take care of the widows and the orphans (or poor, however you want to look at it) He flat out tells us to do this one thing...maybe we should start.

And here is a tid bit of info that you can do with what you want...
With the amount of money that the government is spending on global warming issues- they could feed, clothe and educate every single child in the entire world and have over 21 TRILLION dollars left over.
