The Dance

Posted by Ryan Woods

As we grow up through life we're taught not to dance. Right?
Kids are born with something inside of them that makes them dance. There is no school, there are no teachers that train our toddlers to squat up and down or to twirl. And yet those two moves are standards among toddlers. It's as if God has created children with those two moves embedded in the fiber of their being. And then, as they age, they learn that twirling is not a proper way to dance. They come to understand that the cool kids don't squat up and down to the beat.
How come when I hear music I don't automatically, without reserve, without thought begin bouncing my head and spinning in awkward circles until I trip over my own feet?
Maybe I will from this point on make the conscious choice to do that when I hear a beat that speaks to my heart. And maybe I will also cry when I don't get what I want. And just maybe I'll poop my pants.
Who's with me!?

im not really into pooping my pants, but i guess i could fart or something...i mean, if its for a cause.

see.... now I'm just the opposite. I'm always down for a little pants pooping. But this dancing thing? In public? *snort* I think not.

Arwen, I'll bet you stand around at shows and nod your head- but only if you are really into it! That is what makes one EMO.

Ryan, people do spin in circles and do weird popping squats and trip over their feet, etc. That is what makes a Hippie. I am pretty sure that I know a few that do poop their pants.

I am a cross between the two. I will nod at shows, but I what I really want to do is spin. I LOVE to spin. I was in 6th grade when I realized that I wasn't creating a tornado when I would spin on the soccer field. I was just bugging people trying to play soccer. Do you want to know how I get my kicks now??? I play ring-around-the- rosies with Lola. I am not sure who enjoys it more.

I'm with you on pooping my pants, though not voluntarily.

I do dance. I love it. If I hear some good stuff, I move. I encourage you to dance too!

oh please, Ashtin. I'm too emo to even GO to shows.

Ok... Maybe it's just that I'm finally too old because the music's too loud. And there's too many kids.

But oh no, my dear..... backin the day, I was a full on rock out pants pooping good time.

and those hippies that pop squats should consider pooping their pants... it could be a scent inprovement..............

and then throw something.

congratulations. Lent is over. Now you better start reading my blog!

So, I dance like I don't care. why? cause that's all I've got. If I cared too much I'd never do anything for fear of what other people think. As it is, I'm kind of proud of the fact that my old room mates used to take me dancing (and bowling and roller skating) just to get a good laugh, because that means that I wasn't so into being cool that I couldn't have fun.

Oh! Gittum Jen! Gittum!

I figure if my dancing offends you so much you don't like me, I didn't want to get to know you in the first place.

You can't gorw up caring too much about what people think of you when you are the oldest of 6 homeschooled kids....

i was the second oldest of 7 homeschooled kids, chris alexander, we are the SAME person!!
