Love and everything in between

Posted by Ryan Woods

The goal of writing a blog is not to receive comments. If it were, we would all, at times, feel like failures. No, the goal is self expression and maybe even community. It sure does feel good to get those comments, to feel like people love what you had to say. Very often you'll write a post that is wicked nice but you will receive no comments. Why? To be honest, there is much debate between scholars concerning this issue. And in reality, most scholars agree that the answer may never be found.
I want 65 comments. I do. And I'm not ashamed.
So, if you could please comment a lot that would be nice. I will not post again until I get my comments.

Here are the rules:
  • If you read but never comment, just drop a "Holler hey" or something like that (you don't need an account to comment)
  • Don't comment like 17 times in a row (though, 17 separate comments are ok)
  • Say whatever you want
  • Just have fun with it. I'm going to just have fun with it, so you should just have fun with it
  • Remember that my dignity and self worth is on the line here

Lets do 65 comments together. And remember, the weekend is coming, this is a slow time in Bloglandia, so don't worry.

You can't be the first to comment on your own post! Cheater!

I would comment more, but when you center the blog text it looks like poetry or a bad PowerPoint song slide in my reader. I read it and think it is a song, but I can't find the rhymes or the chorus and then I get all confused and don't comment. (I'll bet the scholars never thought of that.)

i love comments almost as much as i love mail. If it weren't for Jesus and his homies, Sundays would be so depressing due to the lack of mail.
Here's to 65 comments - good luck!

By the way, is there a certain amount of time in which you long to achieve this goal? Or is it just the sooner the better?

First off, Roni, I think that creating a blog simply for the purpose of recieving 65 comments goes against many of the unsaid blog rules. Therefore, me being the first to comment only stays in line with "against the rule" pattern already set.

Jason, I never knew I was confusing you. I am sorry and I will look to remedy the problem.

Jessica, no, there is no time frame. I have a few other posts in my head right now so I'm hoping that this post doesn't take too long 'cause I will not post again until I hit 65...or until I give up trying.

$10 says you give up before you get your 65 comments. Seriously, I will send you $10 if you hold off until you get 65.

i say $15. we need to limit you (Ryan) to a certain number of comments. I think it would be best if you shoot for 66 because you can't comment first on your own blog. do you not remember when we all publicly shamed Ty for doing that? you're next, pal... you. are. next.

Not even Leilouta has gotten 65 comments, and she is the comment queen.

you can totally do it. i've nearly hit that mark on occasion.... it feels nice. like a warm blankie.

here is what i want to say.

you have real purty hair.

Dude, have you checked out the Joga Bonito Portugal blog? its frikin awesome. I have the link, check it out, its got videos and pics from the WC. the guy is everywhere the team is recording them getting ready for games, practices, eating, hanging out...

awesome.

I decline to comment.

I have a question:

Why 65? Why not 50 or 72? Is 65 your favorite number, or are you just trying to top (with wiggle room) Rebecca Marie's recent post that got 59 comments?

Oddly enough I thought of this idea a while back before RM's popular blog. I did, however jump the number from 45 to 65 when I saw that she already had that many. I'm not going to lie, I'm jelous. I feel like a child inside.

anyway...

Lisa, Can you believe that that little german dude won the young player award over Ronaldo?! And admitedly part of the reason they didn't give it to him was the "incident" with girly Rooney. I'm pissed.

you know, this isn't the first time someone has commented on my comments... it's just a facade. a real whole lot of those comments are just me answering questions.

also, another thing i'd like to tell you is that your wife is bee you tee full.

I know!!! I hate the Germans now too, along with the French. That whole incident with Rooney was the stupidest thing. Rooney stepped on the guys balls, who wouldn't try to get him carded, who cares if their teammates.. this is the WC, your country is on the line. Its so retarded, Rooney is a turd and looks like a turd, (probably smells like one too) and makes me hate the English too.

p.s. I only hate in soccer terms, not in real life.

I'm starting to feel victimized because my heritage is mostly German and English. But I don't play soccer, so maybe you can still love me.

While we're talking about British soccer players, can someone tell me why everyone thinks Becks is so hot. I mean, yes, he's physically attractive, but the man is voice twins with Mike Tyson. If you're not deaf, that has to kill the passion. Not to mention the fact that he's married to a skeleton to proudly announced to the world that she's NEVER read a book. I have a long, sordid history of drooling over athletes, but I just can't get onboard that train.

Of course I still love you Gina, as a matter of fact I have German in me, and my own mother was born in England... its the soccer teams I hate.

The issue with Becks, is he is attractive and plays very well (though now he is getting older and he knows it). So being so talented, having some attraction physically, and having lots of money makes one 'hot' to a lot of people. He is married to a robot, and that i just cant understand. but i will always have a soft spot for the spice girls...

I'm so relived that I'm not going to be shunned for my ethnicity.

RE; Becks: It's the voice. The high, squeaky, tiny little girl voice. It just makes me wanna run away laughing. And his taste in women doesn't help. Sure, the Spice Girls were an entertaining phenomenon, but Posh has turned herself from a lovely woman to a frightening bag of bones with a shopping addiction and terrible taste in baby names.

i like parmesan cheese.

and a cappela music. it might be a capella.

i miss the lickie kind of postage.

i long for comments as you long for comments! i have been depressed for like a week- i posted last saturday and only arwen and jess have commented (and 2 from myself). i guess i know who my real friends are...but i am a good friend to you, my brother, and i will contribute to your endevours.
go 65 go.

I do not miss the lickie kind of postage. Sick...Thank you Jesus for peel and stick.

That is a great point. Where was I when lick and stick stamps went out the window? I didn't even know I should savor my last lick. I didn't even care about them until I realized I can't have them anymore. Hey, I bet if you look on e-bay you could find some really old stamps. You coud lick those. Then again their stick could be gone. I'll give $.25 to the first person to find a lick and stick stamp. I'll stick a check in the mail tomorrow...not on Sunday because there's no mail on sundays...

I am completely baffled that RM got 59 comments. W.O.W. I can't remember what my top comment count was. So, Ry, are you getting $25 total?

kanne Ich eine Anmerkung auf Deutsch machen?

Did you know that goats have 4 count em 4 stomachs?

the amount of grilled chicken salad that i just ate is equal to or greater than the amount of grilled chicken salad that it takes to make me ill.

so can the 65 comment get a prize?

What if you donated the $25 dollars you get from the 65 comments to the 65th commenter (comentee?)?? Just a thought

A very good thought!

So I cant believe the WC!! its so dogie!! Australia and Portugal should both have won their games and the refs should be shoot!! So I cant believe I leave Australia in 4 days for a visit! I hope you get your 65 comments! See you soon!

my dog swam around our pond with a big frog last night.

when i was at the post office the other day, i bopught one single postage stamp...the lickie kind.

65 comments?! Are you nutso?! I would kill for 65 comments total on my entire blog. Especially 65 from people other than you and brian.
Rolo, or Tara, or Eric, if you can hear me, I need Felipe and Jenn's cell phone number. Thank you

I figured it out! This whole time I’ve been secretly reading your blogs longing to post a comment but never could figure out how to without having a blog of my own...it’s just too much commitment for me at this point. Perhaps one day though…good luck with your 65…I hope you aren’t trying to compensate for your “lesser” accomplishments (your small pp)

I admit, I've been peeking at your blog for a while now.

I know that this is old news, but since I’ve never been able to post until now I wanted to tell you, and everyone who was involved, that Raj blew my mind! That was seriously the prank of the millennium…or at least the month of June. I would secretly read his blog and all his comments…I couldn’t believe this blood covered kid! I hated him yet was so intrigued. I found myself consumed with his craziness wondering where he came from! I would call tara at her work (she was the only one who knew I was a closet blog reader…thank you for keeping my secret until I was ready to come out tara) just to talk about Raj and how crazy he was! On fathers day our whole family went to go see the lake house and right before the movie started I asked tara if there had been any updates on Raj and that’s when she told me he was fake…I couldn’t believe it. The whole movie I could think of nothing else. My world was shattered and I found myself suddenly questioning everything I’ve ever believed in…props.

Have you noticed how many "flavors" of Dr. Pepper there is? You can't just assume you have the one you want by just grabbing the one with the label that looks right. You actually have to READ the label!! What is this world coming to?

ry, oh my word, youre at like 41 right now. this is an amazing. i will be honest, i too have benefited from this whole shenanegan. when i wined about never getting comments on my most recent post, i now, mere hours later have 12. granted lisa wrote the same thing twice, but i think thats ok. so thanks to you.

jonathan, filipes number is as follows--405-250-8225.

i'm totally going to prank filipe.

I'm 44. Only 21 more!

When you go see the new Pirates...stay thru the credits there is an egg at the end.

How can the blogmunity TRULY trust a guy who invents other people? How do I know that any of you guys exist? Hmm? This whole thing could be a hoax. 65 comments ... but from who? REAL people? Citizen is Rajmania?

kaydub- would you be so kind as to remove your Raj-hatred from your son's/ my friend(s husband's) blog?
thanks
The Management

ps. Can Jones really comment? Srrrriously? he can't even say one, guys... cmon...

my feet hurt

bad.

again today.

why are you almost to 65?

i bet people are just commenting so that you will post again.

i saw e.t. at the cinema three times.

Hey guys. just checking in. See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya!

Kaydub, maybe you should comment on my blog sometime...Just a thought.

Ry, Jen and Tara, they are the only ones that make you laugh huh? Thanks, thanks a lot. I see what you two think of me. (When I say you two I mean you and Kaydub...the in-laws who think I am not funny and do not comment on my blog.) Thank you and good night.

haha. i'm

cheating. i think you

should give the

$25 to

the 65th commenter

and just in case

there is any dispute

concerning who that is

you should now know

that it was me.

I WIN!

cheaters never prosper. you lose arwen.

Good try Arwen. You're a dildo and you can't count, you do realize that you went over the number 65. Nice try, just for your insolence the new magic number is 115...ok, how about 75?

Andy (aka, Drew), I am so proud of you.

Raj, nice to see that you're back. I missed your crazy antics. You always kept me on my toes.

Tara, whining has always been a sure fire way to get comments. It worked for Kara, it worked for my wife, and it worked for you! Congrats. In my opinion it doesn't really matter how they come as long as they don't all come from Arwen.

Alan, who are you? And thanks for commenting.

ryan

PS My wife is a massive tool

Ryan: I hate you.

tara: i hate you. i hope you lock yourself out again, dill doe

63 64 65... i don't know if you heard me

in case he doesn't come back to tell you, alan is mike, rebecca and tim's dad.

Thats right arwen

68...69...70...I don't know if you heard me counting...I have over 70 comments....I feel like a million bucks.

"the book" is the cooper/woods family story. That will someday be a made for tv movie someday...

And

Marmme, your words fall on deaf ears.

In this made for TV movie I will be played by none other than Jimmy Fallon. Jess will be played by, of course, Sally Field, her look a like twin. Arwen (in a bit part) will be played by an aging Mexican half sister of Jeanine Garafalo. Kevin, in an obvious way, will be played by Bill Pullman. While Brenda's character will be portrayed by Meryl Streep in an Oscar winning performance (first ever awarded for a made for tv movie).
It's going to be good...real good. It will be a blockbuster for TV...no really...

I don't comment on liar's blogs. Liar's who make up fake people just so they can cuss, be nasty, and make a joke out of what many people take very seriously! I don't comment on those sorts of blogs.

O wait. I just did. nuts.

ooooh, that was a serious diss on RAJ! buuuuurn.

ry, who will play me in the movie of our life? i was thinking that the president on "24" could play grandpa, hes creepy.

yeah! president logan...he would be perfect!

Jennifer Garner would be perfect, but she's not funny enough...out wait, I've got it. Courtny Cox is funny. Thats it. And I'm thinking that maybe Jess should be Tina Fey from SNL.

Wow Ryan, 80 comments..."That is a bit above average."

Trash talking disguised as comments = Delightful.

Keep up the good work, gang! Super! Neat-o!

courtney cox is so not funny. but i will take what i can get. tina fey is way funnier...

You have well surpassed your comment quota, which means it's time for a new post.

Put out or get out. That's what I always say.

kaydub should post on my blog too.

and also, i love lamp

I couldn't resist the chance to be the 88th poster. It's my favorite number, for no good reason except I like how curvy and yet symmetrical it is.

Ryan, don't you feel popular to have gotten 88 posts in such a relatively short time. And to have helped boost your sissy's post count in the meantime? Yay for you!

First and foremost I would like to thank Jesus Christ who gave me the ability to type blogs. I also wanted to thank everybody for their love, support, and comments. To all the little men out there (you know who you are), I would like to encourage you to keep on keeping on.
Don't forget Lance Armstrong and his fight against cancer. Live strong. Jesus loves you. Peace in the middle east. Thank and good day.

The 90th post.

Now i just want to see you get to 100. A triple digit post!

I don't think I want to help him get to 100 because his post-comment-begging post has been making me think about severed legs and decapitations by elevator way too much.

I REALLY should check blogs more often. I am only just now seeing this and I feel like I HAVE to read all of the comments! I wish I had checked right after you had posted because I don't feel bad about only checking comments once.

alright. secret's out.

i frequent your blog

and you don't even know me. except that i went to africa with your wife. and saw you marry her. but other than that, i'm a stranger.

it's my birthday today, and i'm spending it reading your kathousand comments. something's not right here.

Jess, Jen, Tara, I seem to remember one of those hidden camera shows catching a guy putting . . . biological matter into the glue vats for lick-and-stick stamps.

Dody, I'm totally ticked about the nuber of DP varities. On bad days I can't read until I've had my caffine, so then there is a very real chance I'll grab the wrong one. Oh, and thanks for the stay- to- the- end- of- PotC advise, though I haven't seen it yet.

That's right, I read all the comments to this point.

Killer is dying to see Pirates (he even bought a special piratey shirt in Portland to wear when we go). But we've been so busy getting our house ready to put on the market, we haven't gone yet. Plus, a few bad experiences with attending big movies on their opening weekends have made me rather averse to attending until the crowds have thinned down a little.

Haven't seen Nacho Libre, either. The gorgeous old theater across the street from my office taunts me about that daily. Well, seeing the title on the marquee taunts me. The actual theater doesn't talk to me much.

Roni, I wish I knew what ##### meant (thats how it appeared on my computer).

CHILDREN...Raj is dead. he must stay that way. Children, grow up.

THE GRACE OF GOD HAS BROUGHT RAJ BACK FROM THE DEAD!!! HE'S LIKE JESUS (insert new Jesus hand signal here)

Could you now consider us to be in a spiritual and existential funk? If so...you know what that means...new suits! YEAH!

"That girl..." (you know, the song that plays right about...now...)

I'd do jesus...

Now you have really done it...Jesus is gonna be mad too!
Did you hear that Arwen? Jesus. Now your putting the whole blogmunity in danger!

don't pin this on me. who is the one that first brought back Raj? it wasn't R or A... i can tell you that much.

if you pinch my boob, i will punch you in the neck and make you crap your pants.

I was talking to Raj...Oops...I guess the cat is ou of the bag on that one...Thanks Arwen. Now everyone knows who he is!!

Earth to J... i think everyone knows, bonehead.

This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.

Ladies. This is pathetic. We're all typing on the same two computers sitting in the same living room commenting at the exact same time while reading the others comments before they're finished...pathetic...and I realize that one of you will now post: Ryan, you're pathetic.

PS Post my puppets! Post! POST!

Raj when you call me bone head that hurts my fell ings. We are through...and next time I am going to use my own name/not ryan's when we break up...
Jess

whatever Rizzle. whatever.

Pppp Ssss

RAJ may be dead, Raj is eternal. Why must I keep repeating myself?
