See, thats teh common misconception about dreads. In reality you must actually keep them clean or else it will be hard for them to take! The kind of dreads that come from dirty hair are the dreads that homeless people and crack adicts have I think.

its true. I've performed extensive research on the topic. It is true that it is easy for them to become filthy, but it is also easy to keep them clean. If you get dreads, Ryan, we will no longer be friends.

If you haven't gorwn your hair too much yet, you should start your dreadlock adventure by shaving your head bald! Maybe even your eyebrows too. YOu could even pray alot and call it a Nazarite vow. Then you could take pictures once a week and chart your dreadlock journey. What great blog content?!

you can totally get dreadlocks and still shower and still wash your hair (even though i haven't for about two weeks . . . but still).

the first thing you need to do is start growing your hair out . . . my friend tried dreads and her hair was too short and they just unraveled (esp if you hair is relatively straight or shiney and smooth . . . they will just fall right back out every day) . . .
